Under general supervision, this position provides overall facilities maintenance support for complex facilities having office, laboratory, computer, warehouse and other special purpose spaces. Work assignments are given in terms of program areas of responsibility. Incumbent performs preventive maintenance and general repairs on building operating systems (e.g., Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC); electrical; plumbing; other mechanical; and lighting). Incumbent also performs general carpentry and repair of facility structures. Incumbent also receives non-supervisory guidance from the site designated Government Point of Contact. Performance is evaluated in terms of effectiveness in completing assigned preventative maintenance and inspection services, successful completion of assigned work order projects, and ability to foster and maintain constructive and positive work relationships with all staff and management.
