Investigates personal, commercial, property, and/or casualty as assigned by supervisor, but excludes positions having responsibility for a single specialist line such as ocean marine or surety. Obtains medical reports, appraisals, statements from witnesses, and estimates property value. Effects settlements within prescribed limits and submits recommendations to supervisor on cases exceeding personal settlement authority. Obtains copies of policy, hospital reports, and liability releases for adjusted claims, and ensures that drafts are issued as claim payments.
