The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the state’s renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life.
This position is a Wildlife and Fisheries Technician 1-4 Career Progression Group position that receives direct supervision from a Technician Supervisor based in the Minden field office. Performs daily operations primarily on Bayou Pierre, Bodcau, John Franks, Loggy Bayou, and Soda Lake Wildlife Management Areas as well as other wildlife management areas or Minden region projects as needed. Participates in necessary construction and maintenance activities on Department buildings, grounds, roads, levees, equipment, camping areas, and water control structures. Participates in management activities including planting food plots, operating water control structures, conducting prescribed burns, marking property boundaries, and working managed hunts and bag checks. Utilizes, maintains, and transports equipment such as airboats, boats with outboard motors, ATV/UTVs, tractors with implements, excavators, bulldozers and motor graders
