This is the journey level of the Telecommunications Technician series. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are filled by advancement from the trainee level, or when filled from the outside, require prior experience installing, maintaining, and repairing communications equipment. Appointment to the I level requires that the employee perform the full range of difficult and skilled electronic work. Incumbents are not, however, expected to perform at the skill level of Telecommunications Technicians II.
